Well that didn't work. I keep getting a CD/DVD error message when I put the disc in. I tried burning to CD-R and DVD-R on two different PC's.
Let me explain my situation and see if there is any wisdom on the boards here to point me in the right direction. If there is a better place on the forum to ask let me know.
I bought a 2010 Jetta for resale. It was a one owner car that came from the factory with RNS-510 Navigation. There were two map discs in the car a V2 and a V4. When I would select the 'map' or 'navigation' buttons it would ask me to insert the Navigation disc. I would put the disc in and it would churn for a while and then it would eject the disc and say please insert navigation disc.
When I got the car home I checked with VCDS and there were no error codes in the unit. All the output tests passed fine. I then tried playing a CD and that worked fine. I put a DVD in and that played fine so I thought I ruled out a bad sensor.
I got in touch with the previous owner who said that when the car was pretty new VW had sent him an update and after he installed it the Maps would never load. I figured it must be in the firmware and so I looked to see what firmware it had and it had -0360.
Anybody have any ideas - besides buying a whole new unit?
